Consequently, there have been introduced diverse programs to simplify firms' work. The Word format is one of the most widely used formats. It is a word processing application designed for creation of professional documents, such as CV, letters, fax cover sheets, reports, legal documents, brochures, instruction manuals etc. The Word format is usually used by firms, agencies, and can be found in the majority of schools and colleges. Students deploy it everyday and businessmen use it for creating documents. Word Document was introduced by Microsoft Ltd. It was released under the name Multi-Tool Word. The first addition was presented in the 1980s. Since that time, there have appeared several other versions, including of the latest addition that appeared in 2008. The next addition of Word is thought to be launchedin the coming 2010. Many new features common to other programs in the Microsoft Office 2010 will be included. Microsoft Word 2010 will have new WordArt styles and effects replacing the old ones. Although Word is a component of the Microsoft Office system, it is also sold as a standalone product and included in Microsoft Works Suite. Starting from the 2003 addition, the branding was altered to emphasise Word's identity as a constituent within the Office Suite. The company renamed Microsoft Word into Microsoft Office Word. Microsoft Word allows users to type, format and edit text to create documents that can be printed off or viewed electronically. The Word Format is a reasonably priced word processing application. The application offers a large number of tools and features, and a lot of users are familiar and widely use Microsoft toolbars. The Word document format has tools to format fonts, add clipart, add page numbers, and create headers and tables. Word's file formats are denoted either by a. doc or. docx file extension. The newer ".docx" extension denotes the Office Open XML international standard for Office documents and is used by Word 2007 for Windows, Word 2008 for the Macintosh.
