The Na'vi are the alien sentient humonoid civilization that thrives on the planet. They are a part of a big symbiotic living system that comprises both animals and plants which are connected by a biological communication network. The Corporation intends to mine the moon and the Na'vi fight for their fatherland. The speedy expansion of the mining colony threatens the continued existence of the local tribe.
When on a mission, Jake is taken in by the Na'vi and explores their labguage, culture and habitat. He falls in love with a female Na'vi who helps him when he is lost in the forest.
