| There is scarcely anyone today who has heard nothing about the representatives of emo culture, called emo girls and emo boys, or in common emo kids. Emo represents a subculture of youth descended from the amateurs of the music style of identical name. You can meet emo boys and girls daily, although possibly you do not pay attention to their specific style. With a general intention to be distinguished from the crowd every person with a non-standard outward appearance seems just to express his own personality. But still, you'll easily recognize emo kids if you read about their particular features. Firstly, the term "emo" descends from the word "emotional", so the fundamental rule for emo boys and girls is to express their emotions. They are meant to be very sensitive to what's happening around them and intolerant to injustice. They place particular emphasis on lofty love. That is why there is a stereotype opinion of emo representatives as whining boys and girls. Emo kids have a specific style so that they are easily recognized. Their general hairstyle is a slanted fringe covering one eye and short hair standing on end on the back of the head. Straight black hair is particularly preferable. Emo girls usually show preference to child's hairstyle, for instance pigtails and bows. Both female and male emo representatives usually have the ears pierced. They also sometimes have facial piercing as well. Emo kids also generally outline eyes with black eyeliner or mascara, when at the same time the lips are made close to the color of skin. Regarding the clothing, emo boys and girls give preference to the combination of black and pink color. Black stands for depression because of being rejected and misunderstood. Pink underlines bright hopes of emo representatives for the positive future and their challenge to the all-round gloominess. These two colors are common for emo representatives, but other provocative color combinations are also acceptable. Tight jeans, T-shirts and gymshoes are the most common clothes for the representatives of emo culture. Emo culture is a specific trend of modern young people that helps them to express themselves and find new friends that understand their vulnerable nature. |
